Another out of the box quilt for me. This on is from a pattern called Nordic lap quilt, by blue meadow designs. Made from Cherrywood Fabics cottons colors chocolate, marina, and a 4 Step Red Medley. This Kit is sold at Che' Fab. Its a good size at 61" x 81".
This was a year long project.........For some that is.. Cherrywood and Colorz for Quilts teamed up and did a block of the month together. The pattern chosen was Around the Block, by therabbitfactory. With a full house of takers is was exciting every month to see and hear what people were creating. Many different color ways, and techniques were bought to class. Some used fabric colors, paints, and hand work to bring there project together. WOW there is some talent! Each month we where to do a house, tree, fence, barn church, school house, rail fence or nine patch.
A friend of mine was having a baby shower for a girl. I jumped right on that one. I'm surrounded by boys. And to have pink up in the Loft is fun. I made a simple block baby quilt 4' x 4' out of Cherrywood Fabrics 8-Step Bundle Chocolate Cherry. Cut into 5" squares and pulled out of a hat to place the blocks in there random orders. Then quilted with straight lines catching all the points. Finished it off with circles embroidered toward the bottom. Lucky Little Girl!
by Favorite Things pattern designs. Simple 8- panel skirt with options for a flounce or gores. I did these with Cherrywood Fabrics Corduroy in a Pewter. I found some vintage buttons for a little flare. And the other 100% cotton in the Bark. They are super easy to make the instructions written well. And fun to wear. I'm not much of a skirt girl but there are exceptions to that rule.
I finally unwrapped that Batik Jelly Roll. Moment of silence please, LOL. I bought it about 4 years ago. It's been on the shelf looking ever so pretty for a long time and I finally found the perfect project for it.
While looking online late one night. I came a cross a pattern for a laundry basket. And thought why not make it for my round basket. Things always fall through the cracks........ of this basket and now they won't with this cute liner. Pattern found on the MODA Bake Shop.
