"Color Frenzy"
This is a quilt that is improvisational in style. I just took the grab bag and began to sew small pieces together using my own modified log cabin technique. I'd intended to make a grid of colors, but accidentally made the small pieces too small. So I recovered by subdividing the original improv result and then laying it out into this checkerboard alternating with solid squares. It is quilted in a simple doubled grid. The result is a quilt that reflects my take on autumn colors and the carpeting of leaves we find here in the mid-Atlantic every year.
