RochesterLibrary

This is a fantastic collaboration of needlework that is hanging in the the Public Library in Rochester, Minnesota.

It was organized by library volunteer, Annette Sjolund, who was approached by library staff to "help with a little quilt project."

That turned into a collaboration of 55 blocks representing 40 different countries/cultures/backgrounds and a variety of needlework skills including quilting, embroidery, wycinanki, weaving and cross stitch. The blocks are set with a rainbow of Cherrywood that flows across the huge piece.

Quilt design and construction: Annette Sjolund, Edith Runerson, Karen Koeller and Synneva Hicks

Please check out the website to see details of all the blocks at http://ht.ly/2gDHG

On the site, you will be able to click on each block to learn about the culture it represents and the artist who created it.
