Hi everyone...
I just finished quilting an "all-Cherrywood" quilt for a customer and just felt the need to write. It was pure joy to quilt it, just to get to look at all the fabrics... I actually stopped quilting several times to go the back of my machine and make a note of a color combination I loved...like medium denim blue and brown paper sack colors, and eggplant and fuchsia...
I have quite a bit of Cherrywood fabric in my personal stash (bought mostly at shows), but have (duh!) "saved it" for some special, future project. NO MORE! I'm determined to CREATE a SPECIAL project just so I can use your fabrics. Or maybe my next pattern will feature Cherrywood fabrics...so I can't wait to get the swatch card.
...If I only had one type of fabric to use the rest of my quilting carrier, I think it would be Cherrywood....I just love these fabrics.

Dear Cherrywood--
While at the AQS in Des Moines last fall I purchased 2 FQ Gradations packs (Cranberry to Light and Onyx to Light)--our wedding colors. My plan was to make a journaling quilt for my husband and I to use as a diary when we went to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary.
Well I did get it finished and on the plane it went with us.
I had no design plan when I purchased the fabric--but loved the gradations--so EQ5 to the rescue. Steps to the altar block was a perfect place to use your luscious fabrics!!!!
I also had some yardage left from the making of my bridesmaids dress--so they are in the center Hawaiian blocks and the very top piece of the altar block. The blocks that form the "Lei" around the center blocks was also a steps to the altar block and with a few revisions became the perfect place for the journaling. And some nice blank spaces on the sides to fill up with my longarm quilting.
Since these photos were taken I have added photos from Hawaii, added some crystals to the Lei, and colored the hibiscus border with colored pencils.
Just thought I would let you know how your fabrics helped my make my memory. I named it "Promise Kept" because my DH promised me on our wedding day that for our 25th he would take me to Hawaii!!!
Anyway--thanks again for such great fabrics!!

This is Linda's Aunt from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She made this "Woven Magic" quilt from an 8-step of Indigo to Light and her own background print.
Mary Lou Schmitz made this tunic top entirely of Cherrywood yo-yos. She used several Grab Bags she has picked up at quilt shows over the years.
"I absolutely LOVE using your fabrics! They are wonderful…. I have also completed two of your Shawls using the rayon fabrics…. I have made several of your patterns in the past."

This is a fantastic collaboration of needlework that is hanging in the the Public Library in Rochester, Minnesota.
It was organized by library volunteer, Annette Sjolund, who was approached by library staff to "help with a little quilt project."
That turned into a collaboration of 55 blocks representing 40 different countries/cultures/backgrounds and a variety of needlework skills including quilting, embroidery, wycinanki, weaving and cross stitch. The blocks are set with a rainbow of Cherrywood that flows across the huge piece.
Quilt design and construction: Annette Sjolund, Edith Runerson, Karen Koeller and Synneva Hicks
Please check out the website to see details of all the blocks at http://ht.ly/2gDHG
On the site, you will be able to click on each block to learn about the culture it represents and the artist who created it.
This is my newly completed quilt made with scraps from my Cherrywood stash.
I adore your fabric!!!
Many thanks,

"Flora Elena" won a First Place Blue Ribbon in the Quilt EXPO in Des Moines 2009!
Theresa Ward is my friend who is a professional quilter and she is the one who did the magnificent quilting on this quilt!
This quilt was began as a B-O-M at Prairie Point in Overland Park, Kansas and was designed by Kathy Delaney. She has written a book "Pots de
Fleurs" by KC Star Books which is based on these patterns. The sprays in the borders were inspired by "Baskets and Blooms" by Emily Senuta, AQS Publications.
This is a detail of Flora Elena by Doris Hendrickson. It won First place at the AQS Quilt Expo in Des Moines, IA, 2009.
Just a word of thanks. I returned from the Mid-Atlantic show yesterday with my bundle of Cherrywood hand dyed cottons, laid them out on my cutting table, and just marveled at the colors. Your company creates such wonderful colors which has made my quilting experience so much more interesting.
I am using one of Judy Niemeyer's star quilt patterns to create a quilt for a black tie charity event. Your fabrics will just make it sing!!
Again, many thanks. I can't wait to get the green fabric I ordered while I was at the show.
As an aside, the next time I attend the show, I'm going to park closer. While your fabric is gorgeous, it is also heavy in the quantities I generally purchase!!!!

These four friends from Louisiana challenged themselves to make the "Points on Parade" Jacket last year and they wore them into the Cherrywood booth. They each chose their own colorway, and did their own thing as far as binding, embellishing and finishing. Don't they look great?
Aren't these fabulous?? The artist in Japan designs and creates the wire structures for these lamp shades and then stretches Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabric over them.

I do not know who the artist of this piece that I saw at the Houston Quilt Festival 2009, but it was beautiful.

"These are pictures of my award winning quilt, "Sweet Surrender". I used your darkest brown for the entire background of the quilt and quilted it with rose colored YLI silk thread. It has won many national and international awards. I especially love your fabric for the way it shows off my machine quilting. Thanks for a great product!"
Sincerely,
