We are proud to be part of the swanky fund-raising event for the American Quilt Alliance taking place this September in downtown Manhattan! Cherrywood is a sponsor of the event and I will be there to represent our new line of modern hand-dyed fabrics: chéFAB.
Speakers will be Denyse Schmidt, Mark Lipinski and Jennifer Chiaverini. Many representatives of the quilting world will be on hand for meeting, greeting, and hopefully making lasting relationships. I am so excited at the possibilities of working with some of these influential people!
YOU CAN JOIN ME!!! They are offering a "Home Ticket" for only $25. You'll receive first access to event video footage online, a packed event goody bag with samples and treats from all of our sponsors (that's us!), a chance to win select door prizes and the chance to buy a signed copy of Denyse Schmidt's new book and have it shipped to your home. And you'll be playing an important role in supporting the work of the Alliance.
That evening, after the FIT event we will travel to the cozy yet sophisticated studio and home of Alliance board member Victoria Findlay Wolfe for Quilters Take Manhattan After Dark. This event is all about play! We'll use Victoria's 15 Minutes of Play method as inspiration to create a group quilt that will be auctioned to benefit the Alliance in November. Serenading us will be Alan Jabbour, old-time fiddler extraordinaire and founder of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and longtime board member and former President of the Quilt Alliance. Join us to play, sip wine, nibble appetizers, mingle with our event speakers and celebrate quilts and quiltmakers!
OK - so now the big quesetion: WHAT AM I GONNA WEAR??? I have been working on that...
What do you think of this? It is made from the new chéFAB fabric.
